Old habits die hard...

A habit is defined as an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary and unconscious...

A habit can be either good or bad, depending on the effects it has on you and your life. Does it serve to build you up or is it only just slowly breaking you down? The best habits are those that help you achieve all your goals and help you feel better about yourself. The bad ones are destructive and only leave you feeling worse at the end of the day.

So what happens when we realise that the habits we've grown so accustomed to are no longer good for us? What is it about specific things that make them so difficult for us to let go of? What makes us hold on to them so dearly and fear the thought of their non-existence?

I think that the most difficult part is coming to terms with the fact that we have to change the way we do things and find something else that is better for us. But this is not something that can happen overnight. It takes alot of time and discipline to change. So we just need to be patient and wait for things to work out the way that they should. And always allow ourselves some time to relapse, but then getting back up again and keep trying.
