Quotes worth remembering

Sometimes you just have to hold on a little longer and realise that sometimes when somethings end, it may be for the better.

"Don't ask yourself what you did wrong or how you could have done it differently. Don't waste your valuable heart and mind trying to figure out why he did what he did, or thinking back on all the things he said, and wondering what was the truth and what was the lie. The only thing you need to know is that it's really good news: He's gone. Hallelujah."
He's Just Not That Into You

"Midnight... Not a sound from the pavement. Has the moon lost her memory... She is smiling alone. In the lamplight The withered leaves collect at my feet.. And the wind begins to moan.. Memory, all alone in the moonlight.. I can dream of the old days.. Life was beautiful then" >>> Barbra Streisand ♥

Where there is no struggle, there is no strength

‎"The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall"  ♥

“Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means that you have decided to look beyond the imperfections.”

Obstacles are what you see when you lose sight of your goal..

SONNET 116

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

- Shakespeare

I hope that one day i can find this kind of love. And then maybe my fairy tale ending will come true...

Don't You Quit!

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,

Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow
.
Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.
-Author unknown

This poem was sent to me by a close friend some time ago and it really meant a lot to me. Reading it again reminds me that it is important to hold on till the very end for something that you want. If you quit, you will always be left wondering what could have happened if you had just tried it one last time. It may not be easy but then again, nothing worth having ever is.

Old habits die hard...

A habit is defined as an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary and unconscious...

A habit can be either good or bad, depending on the effects it has on you and your life. Does it serve to build you up or is it only just slowly breaking you down? The best habits are those that help you achieve all your goals and help you feel better about yourself. The bad ones are destructive and only leave you feeling worse at the end of the day.

So what happens when we realise that the habits we've grown so accustomed to are no longer good for us? What is it about specific things that make them so difficult for us to let go of? What makes us hold on to them so dearly and fear the thought of their non-existence?

I think that the most difficult part is coming to terms with the fact that we have to change the way we do things and find something else that is better for us. But this is not something that can happen overnight. It takes alot of time and discipline to change. So we just need to be patient and wait for things to work out the way that they should. And always allow ourselves some time to relapse, but then getting back up again and keep trying.

Everything happens for a Reason

‎"I believe everything happens for a reason! People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you can appreciate them when they're right. You believe lies so that you will eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes, good things fall apart so that better things can fall together" - Marilyn Monroe ♥
